Guest guest
In my family my daughter and I are vegetarian, my husband and son are not. I have been vegetarian for 17 years. When my children were little before I was vegetarian I always gave them vegetables with lunch and dinner and fruit with breakfast lunch and dinner. I can still remember being at a family birthday party with my son he was under 2 he was eating veggies and dip, people were surprised. When he was little he could make a meal out of a cucumber and dip. Now at 22 he still loves to eat salads and likes veggies. In a message dated 4/18/2009 4:43:44 P.M. When I teach in elementary schools the last few years--they make a BIG push to eat vegetables and give the little ones a lot of positive re-enforcement to do so. My four children and three grandchildren certainly like their vegetables and are happy to eat anything. I smile when my 2 yr old grandson eats olives like candy and likes grapefruit too. The news commentator thought the nutritionist would say that for young children vegetarianism was bad--but she didn't! Said you could grow bones, etc. well w/o meat. Also, lots of these children are in families where everyone else eats animals! So some compromise with the 7 yr old and just have a meatless day once or twice a week. How goes it in your families? The first vegetarian family I met was when I lived in WALES. Soon after that, I stopped eating animals too! Over 35 yrs ago. Guest guest
Many, many people in the USA have tried vegetarianism for 1 to 3 years. Some for 35 yrs with the whole family like mine. Go to Http://meetup.com and see how many groups world-wide. Even more are vegans! It's wonderful! Candace in Missouri.....when I traveled in France and couldn't read French.....I mistakenly bought canned meat when I thought I was getting vegetables! --- On Sat, 4/18/09, Christian Wade <hypatia1128 wrote: Christian Wade <hypatia1128 Re: 325,000 Vegetarian Kids!
