Guest guest
About private emails sent to non-veg members by other group members, I haven't heard that there was anyone taking this upon themselves and I'm sorry that this is so. I mention this because of a response to the 'lurking' question in the recent Roll Call. Shar wrote: " . . . I have found that posting on a vegetarian group gets me some nasty private emails as I'm a " terrible " person who eats non vegetarian items. I have been chastised for mentioning that 4 letter word that starts w an " m " and ends with a " t " . So I've found it safer and it " feels better " to not post so I can stay out of trouble. " Well Shar, I think no one should be receiving nasty emails from anyone. When a member actually forgets that this is a vegetarian group and discusses eating animal flesh, one of the moderators usually asks that they remember not to do that - or edits the non-veg items out of the email or recipe. That's for obvious reasons, which doesn't need further explanation. Other members can safely leave that kind of thing up to the moderators and, if they feel that they need to complain about non-veg posts they are free to contact the owners/moderators at _owner so that we can deal with it if necessary. As for not being vegetarian, we have lots of non-veg members on this group, and you are all welcome here. Just follow the house rules, that's all we ask Shar says later: " So, I am replying and hoping I'm not stepping on any toes and that I don't get hate mail for doing so. Yes, I'm out here, but in observation mode and hope I can stay and learn. I do appreciate the group and all the work put into it. You're great! " I hope that you don't get hate mail too - but if you do, perhaps you would kindly forward it to me at _owner And then guess who stays on the group and who doesn't!!!! You are most welcome to post rather than hide. And hey, did you find inspiration for your healthier more-veggies life here? Hope so!
