Guest guest
I'm truly reading everyone's responses to the 3 question check in! I usually don't read all of a thread like this, but I'm learning so I'm sticking with it! Thank you all for the bits of info you are putting out there that will help those of us who are considering/working towards some sort of vegetarianism! I'm still at the point (sittin' here on my fence pondering the great decisions of life such as what's for dinner) that I refer to ALL forms of any sort of veggiematarisim as vegetarian. I know that isn't a specific term for me but all-encompassing. In reading the response to spotterfly I need to " hear it again " to get it. No hate mail please as I'm going to have to mention some of the words/terms some of you will hate and probably delete while screaming at your computer. <<<And yes, I'm delighted that you have been able to give up some forms of animal flesh Good for you! That's a great start! Many of us go through a pescatarian phase before becoming vegetarian, just as many become ovo-lacto-vegetariaAnd yes, I'm delighted that you have been able to give up some forms of animal flesh Good for you! That's a great start! Many of us go through a pescatarian phase before becoming vegetarian, just as many become ovo-lacto-vegetaria<WBR>ns or lacto-vegetarians before going vegan. It's all a process, I think, although some decide that they prefer to keep ovo-lacto than go furt Best luck, and when you decide you want to move on to vegetarianism and/or veganism, give us a shout and we'll help you to do it as painlessly for you as possible, okay?>>> That's the quote and I think my hitting the wall here is over load. Can some kind and patient person please help me " define " and " label " these again please..... my understanding is: pescatarian - can eat fish ???? vegetarian - eat only veggie ???? veganism - STRICTLY only veggie right down to condiments etc ? ovo - eat eggs ? lacto - eat dairy ? TIA for clarifying and adding to my understanding! ~*~ Shar ~*~ **************An Excellent Credit Score is 750. See Yours in Just 2 Easy Steps! That's about it - only everyone is concerned with condiments if they're part of what they eat. But vegetarians (ovo and/or lacto) don't eat anything which is part of an animal whereas vegans exclude anything which is dependent on animals for its production, so, no eggs or dairy but also not honey and non-food items such as leather etc. Piers
Guest guest
To update ColorMyPony's list but still keep it brief, I think we have: pescatarian - can eat fish vegetarian = ovovegetarian, lactovegetarian, or both veganism - STRICTLY only veggie right down to condiments, no honey, etc. ovo = ovovegetarian - eats eggs lacto = lactovegetarian - eats dairy Yes? Re condiments: Probably a strict lactovegetarian wouldn't eat mayonnaise because of its egg content....
