You state quite definitely that you do not plan to become vegetarian - no problem on this group, everyone is welcome but we do insist that animal products are not discussed on the list, nor are any recipes posted that contain these products. It does sound as if you thought it all out very carefully, but who knows - maybe you might change your mind! In any case there are lots of vegetarian and vegan recipes on the website, you can find them by clicking on the FILES item in the left-hand menu or alternatively by searching through the message archive for the topic that interests you. Any problems about how to get to the website and/or access the archive - just ask one of us and we'll try to help! You certainly sound like a real vegetable lover - have you any preferences of the sort of vegetables you particularly like? Which description BEST fits your situation? I am interested in vegetarian food but do not plan to become vegetarian 2. What are your reasons for choosing a vegetarian way of life? These might be one or more of: - Personal health and well-being - Weight loss Which one is your MAIN reason? I am a huge veggie fan... Have been since I was a kid!! And the beauty of it is they are so good for you... I am not a vegetarian but 90% of the items I enjoy eating most are vegetarian!! So my main reason is I enjoy the food and it is healthy. 3. Do you cook vegetarian food yourself? Yes and my husband also. My 2 yr. old is not a big fan yet. For how many people do you cook? 4 people 4. Do all the members of your household follow a vegetarian diet? No, none of us are strictly vegetarian. If not, do you cook non-vegetarian meals for the others? yes. 5. a) Are you careful to ensure no hidden animal ingredients are present in prepared foods or packaged foods you buy in a store? no b) Are you careful to ensure no hidden animal ingredients are present in food you eat out (e.g. in a restaurant or at the home of a friend or relative)? no 6. Do you find you need to make an exception to your diet for medical reasons (e.g. gelatine in capsules) or other reasons? no 7. Have you any recipes which you would like to post on our list? yes, my baked veggie spring rolls!! They are baked - not fried so they are twice as good!! Are you looking for any recipe in particular? No, just new ideas! 8. Do you like hot and spicy food? LOVE IT! If so, what is your favourite? I am from Southern California so I gravitate to Mexican food but alot of it is meat based & at the restaurants seem to use lard.. (eeww...) If not, what kinds of food do you enjoy? n/a 9. Do you read a lot about vegetarian topics (in books, magazines, on the web)? yes 10. What is your MAIN reason for deciding to be part of our group? Definately access to vegetarian recipes - the " spice " in the name of the group is what caught my eye! 11. What is your age group? 35 and loving it! 12. Is there anything else you would like to tell us Let's hear it! I am a Native Californian, happily married, I have 2 kids (son is 11 yrs-prev. relationship-and my daughter is 2 1/2), we have 2 cats and a new " puppy " (he is german shepherd & rott mix so I use puppy loosely since he is large!) My mother in law is a vegetarian & is my main source for recipes but she can't take spicy foods so I am looking to expand my recipe catalog!
