Guest guest
Welcome to our group, Julia. (Your questionnaire is below for the interest of other members.) We do hope you enjoy the group. We have plenty of good spicy recipes here, but since you like it not _too_ spicy just remember you can almost always tone down the spicy heat of a recipe. Ask if you have any questions about that. Also, we are always happy to help people get back on the veggie wagon, so let us know if you have any problems - we love to give advice ;-) Best of luck - and keep posting, okay? I look forward to chatting with you on the list. Best, Pat (Co-owner with Piers) P.S. All cats are or should be spoiled rotten! Ours rules the household, including telling our beagle what to do. ----- Forwarded Message ---- Julia <syrup80@xxxxxxx 1. Which description BEST fits your situation? - I am a pescetarian (I am vegetarian except for fish) 2. What are your reasons for choosing a vegetarian way of life? These might be one or more of: - Avoidance of killing animals - Personal health and well-being - Weight loss - Dislike of the taste of non-vegetarian food - World economy - Personal economy Which one is your MAIN reason? Personal health and well-being 3. Do you cook vegetarian food yourself? For how many people do you cook? I cook vegetarian for myself and non-vegetarian for my boyfriend 4. Do all the members of your household follow a vegetarian diet? If not, do you cook non-vegetarian meals for the others? No, I am the only one. I do cook for my boyfriend still at this time. I know there will come a time where I will probably be unable to cook meat for him. 5. a) Are you careful to ensure no hidden animal ingredients are present in prepared foods or packaged foods you buy in a store? Yes, I read labels well and consult my sister who has been a vegetarian for years. b) Are you careful to ensure no hidden animal ingredients are present in food you eat out (e.g. in a restaurant or at the home of a friend or relative)? Yes 6. Do you find you need to make an exception to your diet for medical reasons (e.g. gelatine in capsules) or other reasons? Could you give an example? Nope 7. Have you any recipes which you would like to post on our list? Are you looking for any recipe in particular? I don't have anything to post at this time. I am just getting back into this way of eating and most of the things I make are the old standbys while I find new ideas. 8. Do you like hot and spicy food? If so, what is your favourite? If not, what kinds of food do you enjoy? I do enjoy hot and spicy, but not too hot! 9. Do you read a lot about vegetarian topics (in books, magazines, on the web)? I have been reading a lot on the web. Again, I am just getting back into this way of living and I am sure I'll be surrounded by other resources soon. 10. What is your MAIN reason for deciding to be part of our group? (eg. access to vegetarian recipes, information about vegetarianism, support for your vegetarian decision, chatting with like-minded people, other.) Access to receipes, support and chatting with like minded people. 11. What is your age group? Teens? Over 20? Over 40? Over 65? Late 20s 12. Is there anything else you would like to tell us (such as your country or region, household pets/companion animals, hobbies, activities, interests, indoor and outdoor sports, etc.)? Let's hear it! I am in my late 20s and basically live with my mid thirty's boyfriend in Georgia. We have one too cute for words cat named Turbo who is spoiled rotten! I spend way too much time on the computer partly because I work from home on the computer 40 hours a week and because I enjoy finding new things and resources online.
