Guest guest
Morning all I have recently been advised by my doctor that I have an allergy to aspirin, not just the medication but the natural product that can be found in all sorts of foods, lots of fruits, some vegetables, artificial colours etc. As a result of this I have to radically change my diet before re-introducing different food groups to gauge the reaction I have to it. Looking on the internet, most sites seem to advocate eating copious quantities of different meats and fish and shellfish as they are aspirin free, but, as I have been a vegetarian for 20 years this isn't an option. Has anyone got any suggestions of where I can begin? I am open to any ideas, please note that after having my gall bladder removed last year I am somewhat sensitive to other vegetables too, especially peppers and am finding eating some dairy products to be problematic too...this is why this latest event in my life is proving to be difficult! Many thanks Sarah x
Guest guest
Bad news, Sarah. So sorry. That will really put a crimp in your eating plans, won't it I don't know about this aspirin thing occurring naturally - as in, I don't know which food have it and which foods don't. I shall do a little reading around, though, because these are things useful to know in any case. I'm hoping others here can help you - surely you're not the only one on the group with an aspirin allergy? Best luck, hang in there, and let's hope this one is not too difficult to solve! Guest guest
Hi Pat Thanks so much for that, it is amazing how many foods contain aspirin, especially as you look into it more, but I'll manage to sort things out with the help of my daughter anyway ... and a little help from my friends.
