Guest guest
Hi Douglas and welcome to the group. I agree that travelling in remote countries can be quite difficult, not only to find vegetarian products but to determine whether the menus on offer are vegetarian or not. Sometimes there's a difference of opinion about what constitutes vegetarian, I've seen Indonesian " vegetarian " recipe books which contain recipes which are certainly not vegetarian as we understand them! Hope you enjoy the group and can find something interesting here! Piers (co-owner with Pat) Douglas's answers: 1. Which description best fits your situation? - I am becoming a vegetarian, although I do still eat some fish 2. What is your main reason for choosing a vegetarian or vegan way of life? - Concern for the animals - Concern for the environment and/or world hunger 3. Is your household totally vegetarian? If not, do you find you need to produce non-vegetarian meals some of the time? My wife and her children are not vegetarian, although my wife dos eat more vegetarian dishes with me. 4. Do you like hot and spicy food? If not, what is your favourite kind of food? Oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5. Is there anything else you would like to tell us (such as your country or region, age group, household pets/companion animals, hobbies, activities, interests, indoor and outdoor sports, etc.)? Let's hear it! I am a geologist and so must travel a lot. I travel extensively in Africa which means that meals served are very carnivorous friendly. However, this just means that when I create a meal, I have to be quite daring and innovative and creative.
