Guest guest
Hi again, Marie, Well, that would have been my guess - the two younger children deciding to be vegetarian, I mean - although it doesn't always work that way. And yes, 'for the animals' would certainly be a child's reason, I'd think. Of course you didn't insist - that would have been counterproductive. There are some, of course, who decide that they will only cook vegetarian food and let the kids please themselves when they go out to a friend's house. Perhaps other members will have advice on that which will be useful to our new veggies here too! You lucked out on your second husband re vegetarianism, though, didn't you? Found him 'ready made' as it were! As for your possible (maybe future) veganism, it's not that difficult for grownup people either You can always ease into it by doing a vegan meal a week, or two, or whatever. They made their decisions out of concern for animals. That was also my reason and, although I discussed it with them, I didn't try to force them to my point of view. Edward, the youngest one (now aged 33), has always been a person with a highly developed sense of justice. By the time he was 16 he had decided to become a vegan. He sees anything less than a total vegan lifestyle as exploitation of animals. I only wish I had his determination and strength of character. I have been toying with veganism for a long time now but I don't seem to be ready yet to make that final commitment.
Guest guest
I've made the decision to be vegan, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to give up butter; nothing really takes its place. Or one of each? Any idea why? ..
