Guest guest
Youi know mine. Grilled or sauteed onions, round slices piled on an open face peanut butter sandwich. Cold or hot, onions are one of my many favorite foods. Sometimes I add Bell Peppers and freshly sliced garlic with the onions. Makes me salivate just thinking about it. Guest guest
Hi to everyone, I first had this sandwich in Rotterdam almost 30 years ago. Basically I use a sprouted, flourless, whole wheat berry bread from Trader Joe's, peanut butter, which is just ground peanuts, cucumber, sliced thin and sambal oolek. It is reminiscent of the satays or gado gado sauce that are staples in Indonesia. I usually have it for breakfast. Selamat makan! Guest guest
Never had that particular combo in a sandwich (I need to live a little!) but I am fond of the combination of chili sauce (sambal oelek), peanuts, ketjap manis, etc. that make up the basis of some Indonesian sauces along with onions, garlic and whatever. There and in Malaysia, Singapore and further north chilies are almost de rigeur in local dishes, I found That suited me just fine. Guest guest
I tried this sandwich, well with variations, this afternoon. I only had the regular bread we bake so I used that and I only had Peter Pan Crunchy Peanut Butter. I did have a cucumber I pulled from the garden and I did have sambal oolek. Tasty.
