Guest guest
Hi Michelle and welcome to the group. If you are in transition you should find plenty of information and recipes here to smooth the way and to help encourage your husband to join you on the path. Thank you for submitting the answers to our questionnaire, I'm forwarding them to the group (see below). Best, Piers (co-owner with Pat) Michelle's answers: 1. Which description best fits your situation? - I am in transition to vegetarian or vegan 2. What is your main reason for choosing a vegetarian or vegan way of life? - Concern for the animals - Personal health, well-being and/or weight loss 3. Is your household totally vegetarian? If not, do you find you need to produce non-vegetarian meals some of the time? I am trying to convert but my husband is willing to try eating less meat. 4. Do you like hot and spicy food? Yes but not too hot 5. Is there anything else you would like to tell us (such as your country or region, age group, household pets/companion animals, hobbies, activities, interests, indoor and outdoor sports, etc.)? Let's hear it! Live in SoCal, married with a toddler.
Guest guest
Hi and thank you for the welcome. Here's my story: I'm usually a junk eater and just recently got motivated enough to want to lose weight. I bought the book Skinny Bitch and was horrified by what I read in one of the chapters. Since then I've been wanting to change my way of eating. I really don't like veggies so this is going to be quite a challenge for me. I am hoping to connect with vegetarians and vegans for some help with my transition. Thanks! Michelle
Guest guest
Hi Michelle, I've read _Skinny Bitch_ and think it's a great weight-loss book as well as being superb motivation for turning vegetarian and even vegan I'm all for that! I know the chapter you mean too . . . it would convert the toughest-minded carnivore, I swear. So you don't like veggies? And you're still going to do this??? Oh good for you! That's just fine. We'll be here for you and remember that we have wonderful wonderful wonderful recipes in our Files section (access from our HomePage). You'll find something there you like, I promise, and in time your tastes will actually change. It's hard to imagine now, I know, but it does happen. I didn't like veggies when I first went vegetarian either, I have to admit. It didn't take long to start to have favourites and then to find, as I do now (many years later, I admit), that I don't have any I don't like. Ymmv. So welcome to the group yet again from me too - and let us know if there is any advice you need or whatever. Just ask. We love to help everyone and especially newbies Best, Pat (Co-owner with Piers) --- " If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance.
