Guest guest
> Years ago when I was having trouble controlling my weight, I went to a bariatric doctor and she said to not drink milk because it is intended for the rapid growth and weight gain of a baby. LOL You won't get an argument from me on that one, Patricia. And many would add to your doctor's comment: 'And _cow's_ milk is intended for the rapid growth of a baby _cow_' - and they grow very very big. Milk is a touchy topic, though, isn't it. The dairy lobby makes sure everyone is brought up to believe that milk is good for them even after they are weaned. Fortunately there have been some good studies done to disprove that thinking. Actually, what I worry about (although it doesn't keep me awake at night) is new vegetarians thinking they must drink buckets of milk and pounds of cheese to make up for the animal flesh they are no longer consuming. Doing so will indeed make one gain weight. Likewise nuts. Moderation, eh? :-) Thanks for that tidbit. Best, Pat

Guest guest
> I eat nuts once or twice a week. Which nuts do you like to eat? I love cashews and walnuts, but almonds are said to be the best. I eat so few of them, probably like you, that I figure it doesn't make much difference. I could be wrong since I haven't made a study of this. Must look into it! Best, Pat
Guest guest
My very favorites are walnuts and pecans, but I like cashews, also. Almonds are very good for you, but not my favorite. I like them better if I soak them over night, then they are really tasty and supposedly more nutritious.
