Guest guest
Hi Barbra and welcome to the group. We hope you can find something here that helps you with your transition, lots of recipes (in the message archive and in the Files) and other information. Transition is more than just choosing different ingredients, it's also a different way of looking at things - depending on what part of the world you come from, the traditional omnivorous main course consists of one meat (etc.) product together with some vegetables, but there are all sorts of other ways of setting up meals, taking ideas from Oriental and other cuisines. Here in Holland the vegetarian products in the store are often described as " meat substitutes " which always irritates me a little, they're not substitutes, they're nothing to do with meat at all! Thank you for answering our questionnaire, I'm forwarding your answers to the group (see below). Best, Piers (co-owner with Pat) Barbra's answers: 1. Which description best fits your situation? -- I am in transition to vegetarian or vegan 2. What is your main reason for choosing a vegetarian or vegan way of life? - Personal health, well-being and/or weight loss 3. Is your household totally vegetarian? If not, do you find you need to produce non-vegetarian meals some of the time? No 4. Do you like hot and spicy food? If not, what is your favourite kind of food? I do like spicy foods. 5. Is there anything else you would like to tell us (such as your country or region, age group, household pets/companion animals, hobbies, activities, interests, indoor and outdoor sports, etc.)? Let's hear it! Nothing special, except, I am finding it hard to come up with menu ideas.
