Favorite Bread: Home made Italian.

My favorite bread hands-down is sourdough, preferably real San Francisco

sourdough. It's a good thing for my waistline that I don't live near the

West coast!

Pat,

 

I like ALL bread except white.  I prefer rye and pumpernickel, whole grains

(where you can SEE the grain in the bread) ... love the texture of different

grains in bread.

The recipe in the " Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes " ...it is vegan, easy, quick and

adaptable to most any kind of grain. Also cheap! Here in Hawaii, where a loaf of

bread can be $5-$7 a loaf, price was getting to be a problem. I have tossed my

old breadmaker and we have great bread everyday.

Still here!  I love rye bread---but any crusty bread will do.  Can't believe

that I loved something as insipid as Wonder Bread growing up!
