I know vegan is best but that's really for people who have money. I'm working hard on the veggie-ism thing but that's difficult as I don't eat beans or mushrooms! I like this group as I can find recipes that I actually eat. Thanks so much. Want to see how my life is being affected by diabetes? Check out my new blog!!! Guest guest
Had to look up Allinson Bread. Found this in Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Allinson Is it expensive? I've never seen it - or maybe I've just overlooked it when in the UK or Europe or wherever they sell lit. My grannie used to by Hovis bread and for years I thought that was the best bread in the world. I might have been right. I used to collect dark blue things (e.g. bottles of a certain kind of mineral water, vases etc.) but this phase seems to have stopped, but will choose this colour if forced to a choice. Guest guest
Grainy and seedy breads - I loved this one called Roggenschrotbrot made by a bakery in San Francisco (that I can't find a recipe for!). Also non-sweet walnut bread. e drpatsant Fri, 12 Feb 2010 19:43:58 +0000 ROLL CALL AND A QUESTION - *PLEASE CLICK IN HERE* Time for a Roll Call, folks! Guest guest
I have two favorites. Costco has artisan breads and they have a wonderful vegan multigrain bread in that category. There is a small German bakery in Ft Lauderdale that makes vegan, organic whole grain breads. I like several varieties of the breads they make. =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~(my signature): From Maida Please sign the petition to allow pets, link at upper left, http://www.petsincondos.org <http://www.petsincondos.org/> While there, to see our PSA logoEW

LOL!! I also love malt fruit loaf but cannot buy the malt here in France to make that. I love old fashioned english granary bread which is light brown with grains and a slightly malted flavour, and white bread with a crisp crust and soft inside. Haven't had either for years. Guest guest
OK-- My favorite bread is..........    Drum roll please! Homebrew. Oh yeah! Like liquid bread, almost the perfect food. As a plus, the spent grains from brewing can be used in bread AND in biscuits for your favorite four-legged friend. Also, they can be tossed into the yard for birds to enjoy. Having said this, I hope to be brewing an Irish stout in the afternoon tomorrow. It'll be 32F here in Oklahoma....perfect brewing weather.
