Guest guest Posted February 19, 2010 Report Share Posted February 19, 2010 Well, I guess it's my turn I really thought I knew my favourite bread until all of you wrote in to tell yours. Now I'm reminded of so many wonderful flavours and textures of breads that I'd be hard put to choose. Not just because it's the one I have just read (in the post before this one) but because I love dahdahdahdah Banana Bread - as long as it's the recipe from Barnard and Kramer's _How It All Vegan_ (p. 128). That one takes chopped dates which makes it especially yummy. Beyond that, I like - oh all kinds of quick breads (almost all the recipes I use are from Barnard and Kramer or Kramer's _La Dolce Vegan_) such as Boston Brown Bread, Oat Bread, Zucchini Bread. For yeast breads I like Dark Rye Bread - also home made (although I have tasted some excellent ones in Germany and Austria that were just from a commercial bakery). And I used to make my own sourdough, which took over our bread eating for a while, until we went away and my starter died I mourned the loss of that starter, I tell you! But my dh casts a strong vote for zucchini bread too He makes a really great one! Thanks to all who wrote in.
