Guest guest
Thanks Gayle, I wish there was an easier way than one rasin at a time! I can eat them faster than I could make them! Guest guest
HI April: I too love chocolate covered pretzels, laziness is how I came up with breaking them up and mixing them into the chocolate. I have never made chocolate covered raisins so I am sorry I was not much help there. gayle

Guest guest
Welcome Tim, When I lived in the mountains I experimented with cooking on my wood stove. It was great fun having an iron pot of soup simmering while heating the cabin. I made a brown rice casserole day before that is very much like your recipe. Mine was baked of course but yours looks very good. Have fun with the recipes in the files. So many great ideas. Guest guest
Hi everyone! And hi Heather! I am not new. Just under a different email address. I haven't posted here in a while but when I did it was under my Kyrene nick. I'm 28, vegan since this past February, and live in the Boston area. I had a nightmare last night that someone made me eat chicken when I was drunk and I subsequently got sick. Anyone else get those? Bleeehhhhh. Guest guest
You made me do it <smile> I looked up feral and found that I actually knew the meaning: " Existing in a wild or untamed state. Having returned to an untamed state from domestication. Of or suggestive of a wild animal; savage: a feral grin. " Think you will have to give up the wood stove and gather dry twigs and start your fire on the ground LOL! Well, guess the heat is getting to me. Have you noticed how much more unpleasant it feels when the forcaster says " temperature in the 100's with a heat index of 105? Kind of like that nasty wind chill news. Welcome to the group. Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome! I do so love cooking over an open fire! Untamed sounds perfect. One of my daughter's and my favorite open fire (or stove top) meals is cooking at least 4 root vegetables together (parsnips, potatoes, carrots, rutabagas, onions, sweet potatoes, etc) in a pan of water until soft, then mashing them together and either eating them with a little butter, or frying the mash in a bit of butter first. We either have it with a protein side dish, or grate some cheese on it to make it a meal on it's own. I've already enjoyed reading alot of recipes on this list (and can't wait to try them)... and I haven't even looked in the archives yet!
