Guest guest
Hello! The reason why I want some cookbooks with photos is because I am a visual learner...and also I need inspiration! Sure, I can read ingredients and get an idea if I will like the flavor or not. But this is a new area for me and I need help! I need inspiration!! It's Eye Candy if you know what I mean. -April , " stampeaz03 " <alp wrote: > > Hello! > I am new here and just starting to become more vegetarian conscious. > > I went to Borders today and looked all through the Veg.cookbooks there. > Seems that most of the Vegetarian Cookbooks have very few photos of the > dish. Guest guest
There was absolutely nothing wrong with your request.   Some of us actually cook for dinner parties and want things to look nice for our guest.  Having the pictures gives us a clue what it is supposed to look like and if we want to make particular dish for a special event. Have you ever heard of a program called Gens Guiltless Gourmet?  'Do what thou wilt, but harm none'. Each individual is responsible for discovering his or her own true nature and developing it fully, in harmony with the outer world.  Goddess Bless. ________________________________ stampeaz03 <alp Fri, March 5, 2010 5:27:12 PM Re: Vegetarian Cookbooks with photos? Guest guest
I just googled it. I found: http://www.gensguiltlessgourmet.com/ I think it's vegetarian - ovo-lacto - but not quite sure. I've never seen the programme, but I will watch to see if it is on here Thanks for the tip. Btw, nothing wrong indeed with asking for pics with your recipes! I don't understand the fuss. I do know that there are sometimes sarcastic comments made about 'coffee table cookbooks' which are big on colour pics and low on other stuff, but that's a different kind of thing. A problem has always been that colour pics have been expensive, raising the price of the book. Also, some of my own favourite cookbooks are without photos, and that's a prob since I want to inspire you with such good standbys as Jaffrey's _World Vegetarian_, Barnard & Kramer's _The Garden of Vegan_, their _How It All Vegan_ and Kramer's _La Dolce Vegan_, not to mention a whole raft of others, none of which have pics in them lol But I'll look through my shelves and see if there is something I can recommend to you which does the whole thing. Gawdonliknows there must be at least one which is good _and_ has photos, wouldn't you think?!!!! Think, too, about vegan and vegetarian blogs - their recipes and photos come free! Good luck, and keep posting. Sorry to be so long responding to your original post. Guest guest
Gen does a wonderful job of making dishes for mostly vegans and vegetarians while making a few dishes with meat. Or she will show how to make one basic dish and how to make it appeal to different eating styles.  'Do what thou wilt, but harm none'.
