Guest guest
Hey, deep breaths, everyone. I don't think one should generalize about ethnicities or even geographic areas. Chinese restaurants unhygienic? How about Houston restaurants unhygienic? A little thought about other members of this group might help, some of whom might be hurt be such generalizations, stereotyping and what could be mistaken for xenophobia - attitudes which may not even be restricted to the particular ethnic group which was under discussion. General rule of thumb: If a restaurant is other than upscale, be wary of buffets, steam tables, etc. any time after the first few minutes that food is cooked and put out. This is regardless of the cuisine on offer or the location of the restaurant. Otherwise, one is being foolish, I agree. Mind you, upscale restaurants have had their share of hygiene scandals over the years, not again restricted to a particular cuisine or part of the world. Sad but true, eh? Apologies from your moderators, on behalf of the group, to anyone who may have been offended by this discussion.
