Hi Margo and welcome to the group. Maybe you've had a chance to look around

our website and see that there are lots of recipes (see " Files " ) from India,

China and other countries. We changed our system recently to file under

ingredients, type of meal etc. rather than countries, because there's a lot of

overlap between different cuisines, For instance tofu, which you mention, is

found in most Asiatic cuisines and I hope you will find some recipes to your

taste. Thank you for answering our questionnaire, I'm forwarding your answers to

the group as a sort of introduction, and we look forward to hearing more from

you on the group!

Best, Piers (co-owner with Pat)

Margo's answers:

1. Which description best

fits your situation?

 - I am a vegetarian who

eats no eggs, dairy or, usually,

honey (vegan)

2. What is your main reason

for choosing a vegetarian or

vegan way of life?

- Concern for the animals  YES

- Concern for the

environment and/or world hunger  YES

- Religious, spiritual

and/or philosophical concerns  YES

- Personal health,

well-being and/or weight loss   YES

3. Is your household

totally vegetarian?  YES

If not, do you find you

need to produce non-vegetarian meals

some of the time?  NO

4. Do you like hot and

spicy food? If not, what is your favourite

kind of food?    Indian, Chinese;

and plain

North American; and fresh.

5. Is there anything else

you would like to tell us (such as

your country or region, age group, household pets/companion animals,

hobbies,

activities, interests, indoor and outdoor sports, etc.)? Let's hear it!

I have been exploring the vegan path

since last summer.  My kids

have been vegan for a long time - I was largely vegetarian but I

discriminated against

chickens and fish for some reason - and cows for dairy. :-)

I think spicing is actually one of

the keys to staying vegan

- being able to make tasty food. I’m especially interested to see what

people have done with tofu.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Piers.

No, I hadn't noticed the Files/Recipes section - but I went and found it just

now. Appreciate the heads up - it looks like a great resource.
