Guest guest
Hello, It's wonderful to read that so many folks are raising conscious kids! My name is Djuna, I'm 28 and I'm the single parent of a 3 1/2 year old daughter, M. I've been vegetarian since 1986 and my daughter has been veg since birth. We include milk products/eggs/honey (organic/free range and/or local, as available) in our diet. We live in a small town an hour from Seattle by ferry and because we are strongly Christian, we get the " freak treatment " from both vegans/vegetarians *and* the omnivorous Christian population. There is, however, a growing movement of Christian vegetarians/vegans, who usually embrace vegetarianism for health reasons and soon come to understand the horrible suffering caused by the food animal industry...it has been a tremendous relief to watch this movement blossom. We do our part to educate the local Christian homeschool group about the benefits of vegetarianism/veganism for humans...If anyone wants Bible verses about vegetarianism to help convince their relatives to respect vegetarianism or to embrace it themselves, I'd be happy to send those to you. Obviously we homeschool, and I have also chosen not to vaccinate my daughter. So, that said...I'm glad to have found this list and look forward to sharing/learning with everyone.
