This is Irene again.

During the past year, I have compiled a huge list of vegetarian and vegan websites, and another one of vegetarian and vegan recipe websites, plus some documents with some interesting vegetarian recipes that I came across during my surfing or were mailed to me.

Is anybody interested in any of these?

They are MSWord documents, but can be easily read with WordPad or NotePad, only the hyperlinks will not take you directly there, you'll have to copy-paste them on your browser. Otherwise, these docs have been tested and re-tested with Norton Antivirus, which I religiously update every 15 days.

I'm interested in your list of websites. I am on the board of a large

vegetarian association that does outreach and publishes a wonderful

newsletter for members. Perhaps we could publicize your list in the

newsletter?

To help cut down on the number of emails, would it be ok with everyone if

for these types of replies, they would go to the sender instead of the whole

list. I really do not need to know each individual who wants a copy of the

websites or similar types of information.

Thanks.

Hi Caroline:

It is the Toronto Vegetarian Association - www.veg.on.ca

If you're interested, the following is a brief description of TVA that I

prepared for the World Vegetarian Congress.

Toronto Vegetarian Association (TVA)

Founded in 1945, the Toronto Vegetarian Association (TVA) is the largest

and second oldest city-based vegetarian organization in North America.

Membership has now topped 1,600 - more than double over the past five

years. TVA is a registered non-profit, charitable organization run by

dedicated volunteers.

TVA reaches out to the community through a bimonthly newsletter,

lectures, speaking engagements, tables at community events, schools,

colleges and businesses, and special interest groups for singles, youth,

outdoor enthusiasts and others. TVA's most popular event is the annual

Vegetarian Food Fair, which more than 10,000 people attend during the

weekend after Labour Day at Harbourfront. (September 8, 9, 10)

TVA provides the public with free fact sheets through its office

Resource Centre and has a lending library of more than 300 books, audio

and videotapes. Every year, TVA produces a Vegetarian Directory that

helps promote local vegetarian businesses, and is free to the public.

TVA offers a special discount card that saves money on vegetarian food

at participating restaurants and stores.

TVA conservatively estimates that there are at least 135,000 vegetarians

and 315,000 semi-vegetarians, people who eat mostly vegetarian meals,

living in the Greater Toronto Area.

Mission Statement: To help people in the Toronto area adopt and maintain

a healthful, ethical and ecological vegetarian lifestyle.
