Guest guest
Hello! My name is Leah, and I have just d to this list. My partner and I are currently expecting our first child (due Nov 28). I am a vegan, he eats anything and everything, but we have a vegetarian house (no meat allowed). We have decided to raise our child as a vegan. Luckily, I have spent the last 8 years educating my friends and family about the nutritional value of my dietary choice, so at this point we are able to discuss any concerns and opinions openly. Where I still run into problems is at the Doctor's office. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to find a supportive pediatrician? As an adult, the best defense to show up healthy, but I know even if the baby is healthy and thriving, the doctor may be concerned about long terms effects of vegetarianism if he/she is not familiar with the facts and research that is out there. I live in Minnesota, and if anyone is from here, a name would be great. For everyone else, some tips on the process of finding a good pediatrician would be much appreciated. Thanks! leahp
