Guest guest
We're just going to have to agree to disagree about this. I *have* read many many many papers, reports, books and articles on both sides of the issue and have decided that the risks involved with getting injected full of poisons is definitely not something that I am willing to take with my child(ren). The only cases of polio in the US had come directly from getting the oral polio vaccine (which, yes, some doctors who have a supply are *still* using up) or from coming into contact with a child who has recently gotten the OPV. Measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, whooping cough, etc....there are countless ways to remedy these illnesses in this day and age in the United States. Last week my friend's son was exposed to a girl who developed chicken pox after getting the vaccine. My friends and I all got together hoping to get our kids exposed too so they can get CP and get it over with. Tetanus does not live in rust or nails - it lives in the soil where there is manure around (horses, cows, etc.) so unless you're barefoot in the paddock you're really not at risk of being exposed to tetanus. I could go on and on. I understand that you study immunology, however have you thought that perhaps you are getting your education from a institution that is blatantly one-sided on this issue? I, for one, do not place my faith in the medical establishment at large nor the education facilities that are run by them and/or sponsored by drug companies. I used to work for a drug company as a rep years ago and know all too well the bonuses and perks doctors and hospitals are given to push this crap. I am not ignorant nor setting a poor example. I personally know a few women in real life who have lost their children due to vaccinations....try telling *them* that they're setting a bad example by not getting their other kids vaccinated. In what context do you mean that " an unvaccinated child is 35 times more likely than an vaccinated child to get ill " ? I don't buy into that theory. A healthy diet, sunshine, exercise and general well-being go a long long way in preventing your body from being susceptible to illnesses in the first place. My son is vegan, still breastfed at naps and night, and doesn't get pop, candy and colored junk foods - he's only gotten a cold or two; whereas my vaccinated niece who is fed a bunch of junk has been sick with colds, the flu and various intestinal illnesses more times that I can count in this year alone. ~Odrade~ wrote: > odrade and others, I wrote that unvaccinated children are a risk for > all because it is a poor example and it seems to be catching on. > When there was a decline in the measles vaccinations in 1980's 120 > died and 210,000 were hospitalized. I also learned that only 1% of all cases of Polio are paralytic, so even if by a freak chance an unvaccinated child is exposed to Polio the chances are extremely low that it would even cause any harm.
