Guest guest
My two-year-old isn't really that crazy about fruit juice. He loves almost any kind of vegetable juice though. We didn't even offer him a taste juice until well past his first birthday, and we have never offered it on a regular basis. If he gets a cup of juice it is a special treat (for sitting in the cart and being civilized during grocery shopping, or something like that) We have never had a problem getting him to eat fruits or vegetables. He loves them all--his favorite being broccoli! Angela
Guest guest
Veggie Friends, I think the main concern with giving toddlers fruit juice is the amount given. If fruit juice is given in amounts more than 6-8 oz. per day, the calories are going to be replacing other foods that contain essential nutrients not found in fruit juice. We need to remember that fruit juice is not a whole food, and whole foods are preferable to refined foods. I think everyone agrees that fruit juice is better than soda, kool-aid, poptarts and other sugar-added foods.
