This is a quick letter writing or phone campaign. Trader Joe's Strawberry Soy-Um has a special ingredient to give it its special pink color. It is called CARMINE. Carmine is used for color and is actually smashed beetle's wings. Not only is this not VEGAN, it is disgusting and unnecessary. Please call the Soy-Um hotline and ask them to take the CARMINE out of the STRAWBERRY SOY-UM and replace it with a natural, organic, plant-based ingredient for color (like beet juice). The number is toll free; call and be polite at: 1-800-555-4332 You can also write to the company at: Trader Joe's Soy-Um ATTN: Christina 158 Kenneth Street Camarillo, CA 93010 Hey all. We love it and it just happens to be the most inexpensive one we've found. And it's organic! Guest guest
Thanks, I also read that warning about TraderJoe's strawberry soymilk containing carmine a couple months back. Thankfully, we just get original and occasional vanilla (my hubby & daughter like it, but it's too sweet for me).
