Guest guest
Breakfast Cookie Bars 2 C. oatmeal 1 C. apple juice 1/4 C. wheat germ 1 C. dried fruit, chopped 3/4 t. cinnamon 6 T. sweetener (honey, sugar, syrup) 1/2 t. salt 1/2 C. fat substitute (pureed fruit) Preheat oven to 375°. Spray 9x13 " pan with nonstick spray. Mix all ingredients. Pat into pan. Bake ~30 min. Wait until cool to remove from pan. The beauty of this recipe is it's versatility. You can vary it in infinite ways by changing the pureed fruit (I like bananas and persimmon best), juice (I've used apple and peach), and dried fruit (my favorites are dates, raisins, cranberries, cherries, apples, and figs). I've also added peanut butter and chocolate chips. Just keep the moist/dry ratio in mind when you experiment.
