Guest guest
A while back my husband gave me an article on the hazards of canola oil. (I tried looking for it on the web, found it and lost it!) Since I read that article, I no longer use canola oil. I did buy baby food for Sofie (organic and vegetarian!!). I was disturbed to see canola oil in many of the varieties. I did not buy those. Now in reading your comments about DHA, canola oil is once again mentioned. Have any of you researched canola oil? I am attaching a Word 97 document with three articles I found on the web w/their URLs. I have scanned the document for viruses and found none. A couple of comments from two of the articles include: Canola oil is made from a strain of rapeseed-a naturally toxic plant-that has been bred to be nontoxic. Some people do not trust that all the toxins are removed, and, therefore, do not use canola oil in any form. Canola oil comes from the rape seed, which is part of the mustard family of plants. Rape is the most toxic of all food-oil plants. Like soy, rape is a weed. Insects will not eat it; it is deadly poisonous! The oil from the rape seed is a hundred times more toxic than soy oil. Let me know what you think. Thanks. Deb _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Guest guest
I have not yet read the attatchment you have sent but I am quite comfortable using both soy products and canola oil. I did read a article about toxins in oils a few monts ago. It said that in cold pressed oils toxins are not an issue, but it is in the hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils. It also said that the toxins are (I think) increased when heated. Thanks for the info though, Summer , " deb proen " <deb_proen@h...> wrote: > A while back my husband gave me an article on the hazards of canola oil.
