Guest guest
Sharon, I also have a omnivorous husband and had to make a decision of meat or no meat for the baby. We decided that he would be vegetarian until he gets old enough to make an informed decision for himself. It is going fine, he is healthy and smart and developing well (he is 16 months). In fact my mother accidentally handed him a piece of roast beef the other day. He put it in his mouth and just left it sort of hanging out till she took it back(realizing what she had done) then he spit the taste out of his mouth in disgust. After seeing that, my 3 year old daughter decided she too wanted to go veggie. Lets give our kids credit, they don't need meet, nor do they neccesarily like it instinctively. If you feed them meat as babies though, they are likely to get used to the taste. thanks for listening. Guest guest
My wife was vegetarian before and through pregancy; when my boy was 5 and hadn't noticed that he was vegetarian, we were driving and stopped behind a chicken truck close enough to see into their eyes. My son asked why they were in boxes and where were they going. When I explained, he was astonished that such things existed. I described the word 'vegetarian'; he said that's what he wanted to be; he was happy to learn he already was one. So we're living happily ever after. -- Be of good cheer.
