Are you eating dairy products? I went vegan one week before getting pregnant

and two weeks after she was born I was 10 pounds less than before going

vegan. And wonderfully, the pounds seemed to come all from my thighs, and

with no excercise (outside of normal daily chores/trips)! Also, cut the

packaged foods, use only a little oil (olive is the best, or instead use

water) in cooking, and eat as whole as possible.

I have felt so much better eating healthy but the pounds I wanted to lose

just wouldn't drop off. I don't care for traditional exercise so I joined

karate! It is a lot of fun and a great self esteem building atmosphere and

I have dropped weight. You also are building a life long skill.

I agree with Erika, cutting out the dairy might help. I was vegan for

years prior to my pregnancy, but I weigh less now (10 months after my son

was born) than I did prior to my pregnancy. Also, extended breastfeeding

helps. I 'wear' my son in a sling so all the exercise I need is carrying

him around all day.

Good luck!

Linda

PS I come from a very overweight family and my sister who went vegan about

a year ago has lost some weight, but it goes slowly. I understand it is

not always easy to lose weight.

Yoga is also helpful to some who wish to lose weight. Also, there is a

great vegetarian book out 'Love Yourself Thin'. It is a hokey title, I

know, but it is really a good book.

I would also like to mention on the weight loss issue the more muscle you

build the more calories you burn. Some people get discouraged because when

they first start working out they gain weight, but any muscle you gain will

help you in the long run. You burn weight faster the more muscle you have.

Just a thought,

Renee
