Guest guest
Hi All, A mother wrote in to VRG about her child being teased. I offered to post her message to the group. Please reply directly to her if possible. Thanks! This year, he's been teased alot at school about what he eats for lunch (bean buritto, grilled cheese, etc.). His friends are doing the teasing and he thinks they mean it just as a joke, but it is starting to really bother him. He said he's tried joking back with them, ignoring it, etc, but it is just getting worse. They ask him why he's not buying school lunch and then say, " Oh that's right! You're a vegetarian! " and laugh. They have also been putting their meat right up to his mouth. He's been very upset about this, to the point of tears. I thought you may have received this question before and may have some good comebacks or advice for my son. He said he's even thought of starting to eat meat, just to fit in, but does not want to kill animals. My heart is breaking for him! Any advice? Thank you. Sincerely, Debbie Imperioso
