Guest guest
Well, I am new to the vegan scene. Two years ago I had breast cancer and after surgery, radiation and chemo we are on a vegan diet. As a family we have looked at our dietary and environmental lifestyle and have changed from a meat eating diet to almost completely vegan diet. This is hard on the boys (11 and 15) who still like to eat some meat. Anyway I am looking for a vegan cookbook, which is of good value and should have pictures in it (colourful please) as I am a visual person. The local bookshop gave me a list of books and titles, but none of them tells you if there are pictures going with the recipes. Thank you for your replies. Guest guest
Hi Sjef, For some reason, none of my favorite vegan cookbooks have illustrations of food...only animals! Go figure! At any rate, my favorite is Vegan Delights by Jeanne Martin. The recipes are varied and interesting...also pretty in color and presentation ( I am very visual, too) By the way, I also wanted to say hello...I am also vegan and I also have breast cancer. Guest guest
My favorites are The Compassionate Cook from PETA and Ingrid Newkirk and Simply Vegan by Wasserman and Mangels. Good luck. Guest guest
There are so many great vegan cookbooks out there, but few have pictures of food! World Food Cafe Global Vegetarian Cooking by Chris & Carolyn Caldicott is not vegan, but you can easily change some of the recipes. It has beautiful pictures of food and the places the recipes come from. Healthy Cooking for Kids by Shelly Null is a great vegan cookbook for kids, but no pictures. A lot of the Vegetarian Times cookbooks have great pictures, but they aren't vegan...easy to change the recipes though. I think CalciYum! might have pictures. It is a great vegan cookbook. Good luck! Guest guest
I've heard a lot of people like " How it All Vegan " . I don't own it, but I have leafed through it, and thought it looked good. I own some of the McDougall cookbooks... I can certainly recommend any of them. Deborah >...
