Guest guest
Dear Linda, I wrote a while back for help with a teasing problem my son was having at school. (That situation is much better by the way, and he has met a vegetarian boy his age whose mom teaches pottery next door to my house once a week. This boy has been coming over to play while his mom teaches. It's cute hearing them comiserate about Friday being the only day they can buy school lunch because it's universal pizza day.) I am my son's den leader in cub scouts and have tried to introduce healthy veggie snacks at meetings. One the boys really liked was bagel faces. We spread cream cheese on a half a bagel and they made the faces: carrot slices with olives for eyes, sprouts for hair, half cucumber slices for the ears, a cherry tomatoe for the nose, and red pepper slice for the mouth. Of course, you could use other veggies, or they could make pictures rather than faces if they wanted. Good luck! We're lucky to have this wonderful resourse to share ideas! Sincerely, Deb Imperioso For more information about vegetarianism, please visit the VRG website at http://www.vrg.org and for materials especially useful for families go to http://www.vrg.org/family.
