Guest guest
Hi all! Seems to be a round of introductions going just now, so I reckon I'll do it too. I'm 30, live in Edinburgh, Scotland, single parent, abuse survivor, and have just passed my one year mark as a vegan. I'm studying art & design at Telford college here and wanna get into the College of Art. Got turned down this year, so it's going to be Public Art at Telford & trying again. I've recently got interested in permaculture and want to try it in my garden - and sprouting and raw food & stuff too. Addicted to cookbooks, pre-vegan and since (but can't afford too many just now). I set up a web page on vegan food & nutrition with loads of cookbook titles and a recipe database if anyone wants a look. I'm really into the whole non-violence thing - brought up a Quaker (albeit meat eating) - and it's quite a big part of my life just now. I never ever want to cause any harm if I can help it at all, and being vegan is a good way of living up to that. And I enjoy talking to people who feel the same way, which is why I joined the list. So, welcome to everyone new, and I look forward to getting to know you! Guest guest
Regarding flax seed. Yes high tempuratures destroy the nutritional value of the flax seed. I forget at what temperature, but flax seed oil may not be used in stirfrying food without nutritional value.

I often work late, and I also don't have time to answer e-mail or particiate on the lists *at* work like I could at my former job. Oh, well. I'll post some stuff just so you won't feel so all alone. :-) Karen

Guest guest
Hey guys... I have to say, this time of year is lousy. So much to do and no more time! I'm up at 1:30 am making towel things to give to my boyfriends family. We leave soon for there... Why did these look so easy to do when my mom used to make them? Oh well, only a few more to do. After Christmas, I'm going shopping to get the rest of the gifts for my family, who is having their thing after new years. Good timing as far as I'm concerned. Well, maybe I'll make a couple of more of these silly things and then get up and go to work in the morning. I hope you are all having fun finishing your gifts up!
