Guest guest
I have read in many magazines -- Vegetarian Times, Natural Health, etc.-- that you should only buy whole flax seeds and grind them just before serving because the nutritional value is greatly diminished once they are ground. You should also buy the seeds in small quantities and keep refrigerated. I using a coffee grinder for grinding them. I don't drink coffee, so I don't have to clean it for anything else since flax seeds are the only thing in it.
Guest guest
Hello, I've been a silent participant to this group, and have been getting all this usefull information. My daughter is 15, only recently she's decided to become a vegetarian, I support her, and am trying to eliminate my meat intake also. As a matter of fact the whole family is eating more veggies and fruits now. I remember my grandmother toasting flax seeds before grinding, and also mixing some ground sugar with it, to grind easily. Does anyone know, would the nutritional value be reduced when it is toasted?
