Susan and Pam,

My kids 7,9, and 11 are vegan too, they go through cycles of feeling left out and them somewhat superior. I think what helps them is understanding and believing in what they do, that they don't want to hurt animals, get the diseases that non healthy eaters get etc. My children are slim and very healthy and they notice that most of their friends are a bit flabby (or even fat) and often sick this helps them too. I do take them to the NAVS' Vegetarian Summerfest each summer so they can spend a week with children who eat the same way! They love it and it helps!
