Guest guest
I'm having trouble with feeling deprived and craving junk foods since I stopped eating meat. I stopped eating meat once I realized that I was feeling sick because I was eating animals, and took it as gradually as I could under the circumstances. Now I'm craving fat and carbs. (read sugar:)) and I can't shake it. I also have a harder time feeling full. Any sugestions? Guest guest
You may not be getting enough " sweet " veggies in your diet: sweet potatoes and squash, corn, red peppers, carrots, or raw green beans and peas. Whole grains (instead of refined) make a huge difference also: as weird as it sounds, try a big bowl of brown rice with tamari for dinner, and you probably won't crave dessert. Or do what I do sometimes... whip up some tofu pudding in the blender: silken firm tofu with 3-4 T maple syrup (or 2 T honey), 1 t vanilla, maybe some carob or cocoa powder, or melted chocolate, or fruit, or leave out the carob/chocolate/fruit and drizzle some fruit sauce over it... yum. Mix in some cooked rice for rice-y pudding.
