Guest guest
Yes I remember the cravings. Try to identify what you are craving (a lot of times I had cravings and didn't know what I was craving, I just wanted something). If you know what you want, find a raw equivalent. If you want a hot dog, or cheese burger, what you want is fat and protien, eat some raw nuts, or avocado. If you want something sweet, eat fruit, etc. If you don't know what you want, eat oranges (it works). Your cravings will shift to raw foods in time. This is a tough time right now, but it will pass. You are transitioning right now, if you have to have something cooked eat watery starchless foods like soup. Its ok to lose a battle now and then. Don't lose the war.

Doug
Guest guest
What I crave consists always of sweets and carbohydrates like potato chips, potatoes, and macaroni and cheese.

It hasn't been easy but I'm determined to get over this. I've noticed that when I try to eat healthy foods such as tomatoes, fruits, and vegetables my body has a hard time keeping it down....I guess my body sees healthy food as a foreign enemy...lol

The only thing I have no problem keeping down is very sweet fruits like oranges, pineapples, and grapes. I think it's more mental than anything.

P.S. I'll be purchasing those books tomorrow....

Mission
Guest guest
Del, when i first went vegetarian i was craving big macs of all things, now i can't even go near a Mcdonalds! Just don't give up! I have found that when craving fatty foods an avocado (yes, a whole one, preferably with balsamic vinegar!) works well. yes, they are high in fat, but its the " good " fat and there's lots of other nutrients in them as well. as for sugar, try dried fruit. Very sweet and chewy... it can also be very satisfying. hope this helps... good luck! /michelle
Guest guest
I had the same problem when I was pregnant, but I wanted hot dogs. I had at this point been " meatless " for close to 6 years. I agree with what Michelle has said, an avicodo worked for me. Alicia --- " Michelle B.
