Guest guest
I use blackstrap molasses for a good iron source. The brand I usually buy, House of Herbs, I think, contains something like 80% RDA in one tablespoon. I use it in ginger snaps, homemade baked beans, BBQ lentils (all of these recipes can be found on vegsource.com fatfree archives), and for a quick homemade BBQ sauce (molasses, ketchup, mustard, apple cider vinegar, onion and garlic powder to taste). I hope this helps Lindy _______________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
Blackstrap molasses may taste too strong to many people. Ribbon cane molasses tastes better to me; Steen's is a good brand. Sorghum molasses is in between. Some of my relatives here in rural Mississippi make their own molasses out of ribbon cane. -- Be kind. Be of good cheer. Guest guest
Just wanted to mention the herb yellow dock as a great source of iron. I used it when I was pregnant and had no problems. Peace, Laura
