Lisa,

I live in MD, outside DC, so I have several suggestions.

Soul Vegetarian is close to Howard University in NW, is wonderful all vegan.

Part of the chain started in Atlanta.

Delights of the Garden is just up the street - that is raw food, vegan as

well.

That is is for true veg. in DC proper. You can get plenty of veg. options in

Adams Morgan area - Eithiopian choices abound.

If you care to venture into MD; there are 2 vegan Chinese places in

Rockville- Vegetable Garden and Yan Foo Vegetarian.

College Park offers a revamped Berwyn Cafe with live music on some nights,

You can also check Veg. Resource Group website for other listings.

You can feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions.

Peace,

Laura

This is a good list. I would also add Sunflower in Vienna, VA and

Woodlands in Fairfax, VA to the list. Also, the Vegetarian Society of DC

has a more extensive list of vegetarian and veg-friendly restaurants at

The Black Cat is not a restaurant (it's a live music venue), but they

serve many vegetarian and vegan dishes that used to be available from Food

For Thought before FFT closed it's doors. (The owner of Black Cat is the

son of the former owner of Food For Thought.) The vegan nachos are

particularly good, IMO.

If anyone has mailed anything to Lisa personally about veg-friendly

restaurants in DC, could you please send it to me as well. I will be

going there on May 18th and staying 3 weeks in Mt. Pleasant - just next

to Adams Morgan. My 2 year old son will be with me - any suggestions of a

both veg & child friendly place?
