Guest guest
Also, has anyone a recipe for a non-meat meatloaf? Grape-Nuts Roast 1-1/2 cups Grape-Nuts Cereal 1-1/2 cups hot soy milk 2 Tbsp margarine 3/4 c chopped nuts-walnuts or pecans 1/2 tsp salt Egg replacer for 2 eggs 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 3/4 cup finely chopped celery Combine all ingredients, mix well. Pour into a lightly oiled loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. This loaf may be served with a gravy of your choice or with ketchup. Serves: 6 Preparation time: 1 hour
Guest guest
Thanks for the recipe. I never would have thought to use Grape-Nuts in a " roast. " I'll have to do without the nuts; will that make a big difference in the texture? My DH asked why so many veg burgers and meat-like products have walnuts in them? (He doesn't like walnuts.) Is it for protein or texture or both? Guest guest
Grape nuts is not vegetarian.. Check out the VRG.Org site , It has some meat stuff in it ,the vitamins come from Meat sorces... EW... Post said none of their cereals are suitable for vegetarians... ****Moderator's Note**** It has lanolin-derived (from oily wool) Vitamin D-3. This is considered vegetarian, but not vegan. This ingredient is also used to fortify milks and soy formulas. Davida The VRG
