When anything else goes into their stomach, even water, it destroys some of the protective mucous lining that keeps their stomachs intact and prevents invasion from bacteria and viruses as well as keeping the nutrients in the baby's body. Other foods, like artificial baby milk ( & I would suspect also vitamin supplements), strip the stomach lining and actually take nutrients from the baby's body. Also making the whole GI tract *raw*, therefore accessible to bacteria and viruses. >> Just thought I would share this bit of info with you. I just recently became vegan and did so when my baby was 2 months old. I only breast feed her. Before i became vegan her poops were a yellow seedy mustard, which is very normal for babys who are breast fed. As soon as I dropped dairy, her poops werent seedy! It was actually curdled cows milk she was getting through my milk!!! Think about that! For the love of life, Jo-Ann Want to chat with other vegans? Join VeganTalk!!
