The only time that a fever can be dangerous is if it rises too high too quickly. Of course it is hard to see your child so uncomfortable while running a fever, I use a homeopathic fever reducer when it is obvious that Colin is uncomfortable. Tylenol only works for four hours then the fever is back, the homeopathic fever reducer got rid of it. There are other herbal remedies, like peppermint that reduce fevers. There are also many herbal cough syrups that work wonders! Sara Colin's Ap Mama We haven't inherited the earth, we are only borrowing it from our children. Guest guest
Jo-Ann, I use a fever reducer very infrequently. I alternate between homeopathics and herbs when my 5 yr. old has been sick. That is also a rare occasion. For fever, there is a homeopathic combination remedy that is called fever reducer. I think it's made by B & T. Herbs for kids has a great line of herbal tinctures that I have also used. Feverfew is a great remedy for fever. Elderflower and pepermint together is another fever reducer. If you are using homeopathics, avoid the mint. Hope this helps you. Peace, Laura
Guest guest
Hi, There are so many herbs to help with everything. You can either get a good book or ask at the Health Food Store. Feverfew helps with bringing down fevers. Echinacea help to build the immune support system so it speed the cold through your system. Schizandra helps to dry up the mucus membranes and great for allergies. Aloe (liquid for ingestion) is great for upset stomach or digestion problems. Ginger helps with upset stomach, motion sickness and helps with circulation. Peppermint helps to soothe the stomach. And there is always good old Vitamin C! There is also a great newsletter you can get that has herbal remedies, vegetarian recipes, etc....you can pick from many topics. www.emazing.com - LamourDelaVie Tuesday, June 12, 2001 2:35 PM ; veganmamas Vegan childrens cold medicine What do you do when your children are sick??
