Guest guest
Hi, Susan Thank you for your info. about Marshmallows. My son has been waiting the vegan Marshmallows to eat since he became vegetarian 4 years ago. Do you mind to tell me the address & Phone No. of Sahib Overseas Inc. in Virginia. I really like to buy some for my son. Actually, we don't need a box (24 8-oz Packages). If somebody can share with me (half by half including the shipping fee), it will great to me. Thanks again. I have found a company called Sahib Overseas, Inc. in Virginia that sells Halal and Kosher marshmallows which appear to be vegan. The company sent me an ingredients list which is as follows: corn syrup, sugar, cornstarch, agar agar, artificial flavor, water. A box of 24 8-oz packages is $40. I have not tried these yet, but I am preparing to order them. susan
Guest guest
The address for Sahib Overseas, Inc. is P.O. Box #185, Fairfax VA 22030 phone 1 703 912-3666. I found their website on the internet; forgot the exact address. They emailed me ingredients for Nissan brand marshmallows, which appear to be vegan, although on their webpage, all I see is Al-Hmra brand, which they did not send info about. I have emailed them twice asking about ordering and they have not responded. I am about to try calling them long-distance. I'll report back if this ever works out! Guest guest
Aggie, The Elyon brand of marshmallows is NOT VEGAN or vegetarian!! the kosher gelatin is derived from cow hide! I called the company directly. Also Davida (from VRG) provided a description of Kosher Gelatin to our group a few wks back that was very informative. It's good you are being cautious. I'm not sure if they (vegan marshmallows) exist yet...I'll keep waiting... Guest guest
Did they specify the source of the artificial ingredients? Also, what about the sugar? I would want to know if it is bone-char processed or not. , " Susan M. Guest guest
Halal is the Islamic variant of Kosher. Neither term prevents use of animal by-products like bone, nor of fish. John Elliott Atlanta
