My youngest LOVES nut butter mixed with a little honey, in a tupperware

container, with a separate container of sliced fruit to dip into the butter.

Other ideas are crackers, hummus and dippers (carrots, etc.), or mixed

potatoes or pasta and veggies in a thermos, or a tupperware of cold cereal

with a individual-sized carton of soy milk and fruit.

How about steamed potatoes and/or mixed veggies with extra virgin olive oil and

seasoned salt? Or a mixed salad and some whole wheat rice crackers that she can

spread almond butter on. Or guacamole and veggie sticks.

Hi Jenna,

My kids do enjoy sandwiches. So I have not had to get too creative. They

enjoy Peanut Butter, Hummus, Soy cheese & cucumber with tahini spread. I

have also packed bean burritos or potatoe & bean. They love 'em & do not

mind that they're cold! Also veggie stuffed pitas. Hope this helps!

Hello again,

I wanted to also note that often there is no sandwich or main part of the

meal. I know when we first transitioned to vegetarian and then to being

vegan, it was very hard to come to the fact that at meal time I no longer

had to worry about a " main dish " . Our meals at home often are considered

side dishes to others & at times I pack in their lunches a container with

raw cut veggies & send some sort of dip like hummus or avocado or bean.

They always get at least one fruit in their lunch bag as well. I also am

interested in any new ideas for their lunches!

A thermos full of soup or pasta is a favorite of my son's.

Yogurt and fruit

Nachos

Cold Pizza

Rollups - A different look on the sandwich

The Teen's Vegetarian Cookbook by Judy Krizmanic has a lot of ideas for

lunches and just food in general.
