I am vegan and allergic to soy. White Wave has discontinued their soy free

meat alternatives and I'm looking for replacements. There used to be a vegan

soy free hot dog, but I can no longer find it either. Does anyone know of any

companies or products?

Thanks, tera

We actually like quorn " meat " better than soy. Quorn is a protein extracted from

mushrooms. Here in Switzerland we have a local market chain that brings quorn

" veal " slices, cubes, breaded, with garlic sauce, etc. Really yummy. Ask your

local health food store.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there is a veggie burger

by the name of Amy's California Burger that is soy-free. It's made with only

veggies and grains, and it's quite yummy (imo).

I'm pretty sure quorn is not vegan and I don't think it is readily

available in the states. Some vegan friends of mine in the UK told me it

has either egg or dairy in it (can't remember now...has been a while).

There are a lot of quorn products here on the market and some do have a small

quantity egg or dairy, but others do not. The quorn itself is a mushroom

protein, so it is vegan. Then it can be put on the market in various ways.
