Guest guest Posted October 11, 2001 Report Share Posted October 11, 2001 Greetings all, Our local Whole Foods, Wild Oats, and Vitamin Cottage stores carry Earth Balance margarine, which is vegan and nonhydrogenated. Its consistency & taste are just like regular margarine, and kids who eat it here sometimes go home and ask their moms to get it for their house too. There's a companion product that some conventional stores carry, called Smart Balance, that is not vegan. If your Whole Foods doesn't have Earth Balance I would think they could order it for you. My husband prefers Spectrum Spread, another vegan nonhydrogenated product, but to me it tastes more like cream cheese than margarine. My kids seem to think it's fine, though.
