Guest guest
Some disturbing statements in the current issue of " Parents " magazine are worthy of your letters (or e-mails) to the editor (address and e-mail of Parents magazine are at end of this e-mail): The current issue of " Parents " magazine has an article titled " Inquiring minds want to know: How will you answer your child's tough questions " by Laurel Graber. Tough question #10 (see page 124) is " Why do we eat animals? " The article first suggests repeating an explanation given in " The Lion King " in which Simba talks about the " circle of life. " The article then suggests telling your child that " As long as their have been animals, people have used them for food. " The article notes that animals " contain nutrients. " If you think this is the wrong approach to a " tough question " from a child about eating animals, by all means, please drop a line (or two) to Parents magazine: Letters can be sent to: Parents Magazine 375 Lexington Avenue New York, NY 10017 E-mails can be sent to: mailbag **************************** Thanks for your interest. Guest guest
Funny but I'm sure people have " nutrients " too but that is not a good enough reason to eat them. My dh is taking an environmental ethics class right now and they are discussing animal rights, etc. The university is mainly local kids and we live in a very meat and potatoes type of place. He has been doing a lot to help educate the students on how to be vegetarian.
