Holiday gift idea...

I paid $15 to the Turkey Farm Sanctuary in my kids name as a

Thanksgiving gift to them. Just today we received inthe post (we live in

Switzerland) the photo of the turkey we are helping to take care of. My

6 year old LOVED it!!! It is physical evidence to him of how we are

helping to care for animals who normally are eaten by others.

 

Anyway, I had the idea that perhaps this would make a good gift for a

child during the holiday season!

Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary (http://www.animalsanctuary.org/)and PIGS, A

Sanctuary (http://www.pigs.org/) also have such a program. I believe

United Poultry Concerns (http://www.upc-online.org/) does too. I love Farm

Sanctuary, but I like to also support the smaller sanctuaries that don't

get as much press. I've also volunteered at all three sanctuaries and they

are wonderful places.

This is such a beautiful idea for the holidays (I adopted PowWow for my son.)
