Guest guest
Miami Herald: Drew students contribute to healthy-eating video The full article will be available on the Web for a limited time: http://www.miami.com/herald/content/news/neighbors/ncent/digdocs/106247.htm Drew students contribute to healthy-eating video Fourth-grade students at Charles R. Drew Elementary, 1775 NW 60th Street, Miami, FL choreographed and performed the Veggie Rap song for a segment of a healthy-eating video that will be available free to elementary schools in the tri-county area. The video, called Eat Your Fruit and Veggies, is the brainchild of Susan Hargreaves, a director of the Fort Lauderdale-based Earthkind, a nonprofit group that offers free programs to schools. The video relates the adventures of Herlock Holmes, who is transported around the world by the magic of the Earth Wizard and discovers how people in different countries stay healthy by eating fruits and vegetables. For their performance, the Drew students were treated to a vegetarian oriental meal of pan-fried vegetable dumplings, vegetable fried rice, crispy tofu in black bean sauce with broccoli and snow peas and sweet battered tofu. Earthsave-Miami, an environmental group, and Earthkind paid for the meal. Send FREE video emails in Mail.
