Guest guest
Does anyone know anything about the rabies vaccine and what it is composed of? Any animal products? A friend of mine is vegan and pregnant (another issue with the vaccine, but that is being covered in another area) and is supposed to get a rabies vaccine for her job. Any websites or info would be great help. Thanks! Linda Send FREE video emails in Mail! http://promo./videomail/

I don't know what the vaccine is made from. Your friend can refuse any vaccine in any state based on religious objections. She does not have to tell them what her religion is. Every state has a waiver for this. Peace, Laura
Guest guest
From what I heard, many vaccines are cultured in animal proteins, especially monkey and bovine. I do not specifically know about the rabies vaccine. Try Gary Null's website www.garynull.com. He has an extensive article in his archives on vaccines. Current vaccinations may, however, be a legitimate work requirement in some fields if the worker is likely to come in contact with the disease in question in the course of her work. For instance, if someone is working in a vet's office or an animal shelter a mandatory rabies vaccine could very well be required. My impression was that in this case the vaccine is a job requirement imposed by the employer, not imposed by the state. If the vaccine is in fact necessary for the completion of job duties (handling potentially rabid animals, for instance) then requiring the vaccine is, I believe, legally allowable. ---- Patricia Bullington-McGuire <patricia The brilliant Cerebron, attacking the problem analytically, discovered three distinct kinds of dragon: the mythical, the chimerical, and the purely hypothetical. Guest guest
Okay, apparently I wasn't quite clear with my question. I'll try again... My friend (who is vegan and pregnant) does not want animals she works with to be put to death just because she does not get a rabies vaccine. She, of course, will not get the vaccine while she is pregnant due to the affect in may have on the fetus. Here is her problem...if she takes this job (she needs the money and she wants to work with animals due to her ethics) and gets bit by one of the animals then the animal will be killed to check for rabies. If the animal had rabies then she would probably have to go on meds that could be even worse for the fetus than the vaccine. If the animal did not have rabies then she would be responsible for the death of an animal just because she did not get the rabies vaccine. Does anyone out there know of any way to check for rabies without killing the animal? Does anyone know of a holistic 'vaccine' for rabies that may not be as much of a risk? Anyone out there ever been in such a situation....maybe you found a way to work away from the animals during your pregnancy or something. Thanks in advance for any insight.
